Northside Community Centre was developed to provide social, educational and training opportunities for Northside Estate and the wider community. Since the beginning, the Centre has worked hard to provide a facility that meets the needs of estate residents, to assist us we regularly invite the local community to give us their views and tell us what services they would like to see offered at the Centre.
Our team relies heavily on volunteers and a little can go a long way. We understand people can find it hard to give up their time on a regular basis but they could still make a big difference by volunteering their time for one off events or even the odd half hour. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers who would be interested in dedicating some of their time to us, if you wanted to find out more please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Northside Community Centre History
Todays NCC evolved first as a playgroup, then a residents group and finally as a registered Charity. The original building & facilities were in poor condition, and presented several problems. Plans to find a replacement building made little progress initially, Derwent & Solway Housing Association worked with the committee and offered an alternative venue in an old co-op building which required renovation . The two organisations worked together and acquired funding to refurbish the building, and in 2006 it was opened to the public.
A Great Big Thank You
Over the past few years we have worked with local businesses & organisations, who have helped NCC Ltd achieve so much. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their assistance providing the best services that we can to the community & their continued support, so to all our Partners, Friends & Volunteers THANK YOU:
